Great time in Carribean! by A Traveler from Bellingham, WA
Sailing date: May 2008

Pros:
Every day in different port!

Cons:
Room service

We had a good time on our cruise. Paying a little extra for the balcony for very worth it, it was so relaxing to sit down on the balcony and enjoy the view. What we liked the most was that we spent every day in a different port. We did a different activity every day. Shore excursions can be pre-booked online or when you get to the ship. Snorkeling with turtles, kayaking, river tubing, and every other excursion was excellent. Night shows on the ship were excellent, they have their own amazing dancing & singing team as well as visiting comedians that were hilarious.

Ship Quality
Ship was very large and even though you could feel it moving most of the time, it was minimal and I never slept so good as I did on the ship. The decor is very modern and rooms are small but comfortable and clean. Housekeeping did an excellent job on keeping the ship and rooms clean. We ran out of hot water one morning but it was fixed within 5 minutes when we reported the problem.

Dining/Food
Formal dining room food was delicious and waiting staff did a great job. However, we were a little dissapointed with room service options, which offered mostly sandwiches but not dining room options. They also had a Sun deck as another alternative to formal dining, offering BBQ/Chinese food/Light breakfast, which was okay. We bought expensive Fountain Drink cards which were a waste since they were free drinks on the Sun deck and fountain drinks were not very good.

Stateroom Quality
Room was clean and comfortable, having a balcony was wonderful. However, between excursions, dining, shows & shopping, we did not spend much time in our room. Beds were sooooo comfortable!!!

Ship Staff Quality
People were really willing to go above and beyond for us, starting from our room attendant & waiting staff and finishing with camera shop and other shop representatives.

Entertainment & Activities
Destiny dancers & singers were amazing! We loved every show! Comedians were also very funny, but sometimes performed too late (midnight). Last night were was a magic show which was a little dissapointing since things did not go as intended but the magician apologized and said that he had to stop the show so his assistant does not get hurt. We respected that.

Children's Programs
We don't have children but heard some very good reviews about their children program from other people on the ship. They said their 3-year old loved it. They did all kinds of stuff such as face-painting, etc., which gave the parents a good opportunity to escape and enjoy themselves.

Ship Quality
Good size ship, has all the things cruises have. Some major dining rooms were in the way when you wanted to get to the other side of the ship. No way around them you had to go up or down the floors to get around them. The decor seemed to be awful dark, room and in general very clean. Dining staff in the free style dining were a little slow in cleaning tables off and sometimes a table would be sticky.

Size of an outside cabin on the main level was above average. The shower was huge compared to others I have had. You didn't seem crowded in it. The window was very nice for viewing. If there was a way to keep the windows clean on the outside would be even better.

Ship Staff Quality
Our cabin steward was the greatest. They were friendly and nice to visit with. They recognized us in the port when they were off. Our steward was on stage with the intros and we waved at him and he waved back because he recognized us. They were very talkative and we had excellent service.
