	Overall Rating: About the Reviewer: Age: 30 - 49 Cruise Experience: 4 - 6 cruises Traveler Type: Group Stateroom Type: Balcony Fun time had by all! by Mukhtiar M. from Vancouver, Canada Sailing date: Jan 2007 Pros: Great way to travel with large group Cons: Not enough time in some ports Great time had by all, we were travelling with guests from Canada and England for a holiday/birthday/reunion! This is our fourth cruise with Carnival and the experience was one of the best we have had. We chose this itinerary to accomodate everyone in our group from a 9 month old to adults ranging in age from 40-55. The ship "Triumph" was very nice compared to others we have been on. The only critisicm I have is the dinner menus were not as appealing as others. I was very pleased that between our Alaska Air/Cruise and Carnival consultants they were able to arrange for seating for all 28 of our guests to sit in the main dining room in very close proximity with all our tables next to each other!! The ports of call were fabulous except for San Juan, it would have been nice to explore this port during the daytime as opposed to the evening as the shops were preparing to close when we arrived. Technically we felt there was only two port stops on this itinerary instead of three. The staff on the ship were wonderful and very pleasant, we always experienced smiles from everyone. Due to some early risers we were always able to get multiple lounge chairs for our days at sea so we had atleast 16 chairs to enjoy the sun and watch the fun events that were happening on the Lido deck. The cocktail waiters were fabulous and made our guests feel special, especially when they remembered what drinks we were drinking from the previous days and even addressed some of us by our names which they remembered without even looking at our sail and sign cards! For some of the guests, in fact all of the England group this was their first experience cruising and they really enjoyed themselves and all of them commented on how they will definately do it again. We are planning another reunion and hope to sail the Southern Caribbean on Carnival, next time there will be more guests joining our group and we are all looking forward to this event. Thanks to Alaska Cruise and Carnival for making this such a memorable trip and we look forward to many more!! Ship Details: Ship Quality Beautiful ship, staterooms were great on the 10th floor, easy access to all areas of the ship. Kids loved the slide, mini golf and arcade. Dining/Food Dinner menus were acceptable but we have had better selections on other ships. Stateroom Quality As mentioned before, great location and size. We are only going to book balcony rooms as they were great and able to open balcony dividers so we were able to access adjoining rooms via balcony! Ship Staff Quality From the Pursors, Room Stewards, Food and Beverage Staff, Gift Shop staff, Candy shop Staff, Entertainment staff, everyone was very friendly, pleasant and always smiling! Entertainment & Activities Can't complain, there was always something to do. The only thing we had time for was to take some pictures and browse the shops, which were closing as we arrived. Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas Beautiful port, easy access to open air taxis and for a group were very affordable. Shopping on the main street was great if you like jewellry! Don't Miss: Magens Bay, great beach and water! Philipsburg, St. Maarten Beautiful port, easy access to the beach and shopping, 10-15 minute walk which was very nice to be able to browse some of the unique shops on your way to the beach. After a day in the sun the water taxis were available to bring you back to port for a small price. The beach and shops are very central as the beach is on one side of the street and the shops are right accross the street and there is alot of shopping, many restaurants and areas to buy beverages.
