A fun cruise by
Lisa T from Bellingham, WA
Sailing date: Feb 2009 Pros:
Very relaxing and everything is included
Cons:
the food was a disappointment
This is our second time cruising with Carnival and 10th cruise overall. The ship was older, but kept very clean. The staff was very friendly. The food was satisfactory, but nothing spectacular. Not a lot of variety at the daily buffet. The nightly entertainment was a bit disappointing. There were only 2 shows out of the 5 nights of our cruise in the main theater/lounge. Captain and crew were very friendly.
Ship Quality very clean for an older ship
Dining/Food not a lot of variety in the food options.
Stateroom Quality very clean
Ship Staff Quality Very friendly and any of our concerns were addressed promptly.
Entertainment & Activities When activities/talks were scheduled for a specific time they generally started late. Such as the debarkation talk at 11am did not start until 11:20 because they played BINGO first (which was scheduled to start at 10:30 and didn't start until 11am).

Cozumel, Mexico We had a great time just wandering around the town and shopping. We only made it to a fraction of the stores.
Don't Miss: All the jewelry stores
Progreso (Merida), Mexico We went on a Mayan ruin and city tour shore excursion and it was fantastic. We toured an actual Mayan residence and it very educational. Our tour guide was great
Don't Miss: The mayan ruins and the authentic mayan hut tour

First Family Cruise by
A Traveler from Seattle, WA
Sailing date: Feb 2009 Pros:
The staff was very friendly
Cons:
Couldnt escape the cigarette smoke. (We were a group of 8 non-smokers)
We sailed on the Carnival Fantasy. The ship was a bit older, but very well kept and very clean.

Dining/Food
Stateroom Quality Our king bed was actually 2 twin beds pushed together. Having the hump in the middle left us with a few minor aches and pains each morning, but nothing a massage couldnt take care of.

A good cruise. by
Chris C from Portland, OR
Sailing date: Mar 2007 Pros:
The staff was great, snorkeling in Cozumel
Cons:
Too many full days at sea (2)
The ship was nice, not enough ping pong paddles.

Entertainment & Activities Not really enough to do considering that you spent two full days at sea, unless you are a big fan of BINGO. Not enough ping pong paddles for the tables provided.

Costa Maya, Mexico The mayan ruins were great. The port is basically fake, built for the cruise ships. Definitely a good port to take an excursion from.
Don't Miss: Chacochoben Mayan Ruins
Cozumel, Mexico Snorkeling is the name of the game here, beautiful water and fish.

Enjoyed the cruise by
A Traveler from Bend, OR
Sailing date: Dec 2006 Pros:
The dining experience was SPECTACULAR! Our waiter Bart, was amazingly accomodating and the food was fabulous! We met some very nice people.
Cons:
They changed the time of our clear kyak and snorkel excursion, which we were really excited about. We heard about the change 15 minutes before departure, scrambled as quickly as we could, however, we missed it and were chastised by staff for not ASKING if the time had changed...grr POOR Cust. Serv.
Good, it was our first cruise, other than the excursion disappointment, (I doubt that I will ever book another excursion on the cruise line) it was good. The stateroom was fine, bed was pretty good, steward did a good job and there was always PLENTY of good food to eat. Most of the shows were good, however, the last show of the Fantacy dancers was too risque for the young audience. I was sitting next to a 14 year old girl and she was apalled at some of the "dance moves." I also heard some teenagers remarking that the "Broadway" show was too risque for the younger people in attendance when the girl's costumes were ripped off.
Other than that, pretty good.
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Our waiter Bart was phoenomenal!
Stateroom Quality Shower curtain was a pain, always had to wipe down the floor after a shower, a shower door would be very helpful
Ship Staff Quality Anytime we asked a question of someone that wasn't directly related to the station they were staffing, we were referred to the pursers desk...the wait at the pursers desk was always about 5-10 minutes and at times the attendents were rude.
Entertainment & Activities Some of the dances/entertainment was to risque for children. I heard comments on that several times from passengers

Calica, Mexico Our excursion, the Bicycles, Caverns and Beach were somewhat of a disappointment, the caverns weren't at all like what we saw in the brochure on line and the bikes were in ill repair (mine had a flat tire and they just put air in it, and then it was going flat again by the end of the tour) and we were promised a granola bar and soft drinks...we had one offer of a soda out of a pre-opened 2 liter bottle that the tour guide poured in to a plastic cup after he'd been handling the rocks in the caverns...the granola bar was never mentioned, however, we were told we could buy food at a restaurant at the beach where he took us, didn't look like much of a restaurant to us.
Don't Miss: Didn't see or hear of a "don't miss" on this port...
Cozumel, Mexico Although the excursion staff caused us to miss our excursion we went on shore anyway and did some shopping. The shopping was excellent, and Jason did a great job of helping us find what we were looking for at this port
Don't Miss: Everythings seemed to be a plus at this port, although I did hear some complaints about how peoples excursions were handled.

A great first-time experience! by
Vickie S. from Bremerton, WA
Sailing date: May 2006 Pros:
The location of our cabin. It was on the Verandah deck where there are only 47 or so cabins. Not alot of traffic, nice and quite.
Cons:
Sitting with others in the dining room.
I thought everything was nice. Fairly well organized. Cabins were clean and stewards attentive.

Grand Turk Island
Half Moon Cay, Bahamas (Private Island) Absolutely beautiful beach! It's a must see and experience.
Nassau, Bahamas Wish I would have chosen a different shore excursion/Thriller Powerboat to Blackbeard's Cay. Wasn't much to it. Would have like to experienced the city/shopping more.
