A wonderful cruise by

Sailing date: Jan 2008 Pros:
The Food
Cons:
Returning Home
We found the service aboard ship to be very good, especially our stateroom and dinning service. The food was especially good on this cruise, much better than our last. The crew was very attentive and especially helpful to my wife, who is in a wheelchair. I would recommend the ship for anyone's first cruise as experience of pure pleasure.

A great time had by all !!! by

Sailing date: Oct 2007 Pros:
The staff, food, rooms.....so many things
Cons:
Too many smokers allowed to smoke wherever they want
We had a wonderful trip with 11 people in total. It was my Sister and Brother in law's 25th anniversary so 5 couples a 1 single left the kids at home and went on a cruise. We stayed overnight in Ft. Lauderdale and took the hotel shuttle to the ship. We only had to identify that our luggage had made it to the port and then we went into line to start the embarking process that we heard so much about. We were pleasantly surprised by how smoothly it was done. If you are prepared and have all your papers filled out like they explain clearly on the cruise website you should have no problems. You also do not want to be there at the last minute and expect to be on quickly. Some on our cruise were complining it took to long but they arrived really late and were behind almost everyone. use common sense and you will be fine. We were on the ship in about 25 minutes. We had some lunch and walked around a bit and then we went to our room around 1:30. Our luggage arrived in our room around 5:00 so we were pleased. The ship is very large and there is lots to keep you busy. They need to enforce non smoking areas though. People would smoke anywhere they wanted and I never saw anyone ever say anything to any smoker.
Ship Quality The ship is huge. It is very clean and well cared for by the many staff. The decorations are a bit on the loud side but it looked fine. The furniture was very comfortable throughout the ship. It can get a bit confusing getting to a couple of places since you can't get straight through some areas and may have to go down a floor, around and back up to get to a couple of places but you catch on quickly....at least we all did.
Dining/Food We really enjoyed the food we had. We ate dinner every night except one in the Silver dining room. The food was always awesome. I had the best prime rib that I have ever had while we were there. The chocolate melting cake with vanilla ice cream was unbelievable !!Everyone in our group loved dinner every night and it appeared that most also did. We had dinner at Harry's Supper Club the night we did not go to the dining room. It was a lovely place to eat and well worth the $30.00 per person. It was sooooo much food and really good food. I would have liked a bit more time in between courses though. It was a bit rushed and didn't give enough time to look forward to the next course. The service at Harry's was super. The best service we all received was in the Silver Dining room by our waiter ( Lyobomir). We tried several of the items at buffet style places and most were good. The one place with the Burgers was awesome and the pizza place was very good. The dessert bar was also very good.
Stateroom Quality We were very pleased with how big the staterooms were...at least ours was. We had a balcony suite and it was really nice. We thought it would be small and cramped but it was not. The bathroom was bigger than we were told it would be and the balcony was very nice to have. It had a small table and 2 chairs on it. We had 4 people out there having drinks so that was more space than you should ever expect. The bed was one of the best we have ever slept on and we have a great bed at home. The comforter and pillows were also great. We loved the room.
Ship Staff Quality We had the best waiter in the world on our ship and he worked dinner in the Silver dining room. his name is Lyobmir. He did everything so well and was super friendly. We wanted to have just sit down and join the 11 of us we enjoyed his company so much. The only problem I found in the dining room was getting the bar person to come by our table. Lyobomir was able to get wine and serve it but you needed the bar guy if you wanted a mixed drink which my wife and I did each night. Sometime we had 1 drink when 2 or maybe 3 would have been better. The gentlemen that looked after our room did a great job. The main guy was Fransisco and he was very nice. Most of the bar staff were friendly and poured nice drinks. There was 1 girl at the Martini bar that bever smiled once while we were on the cruise. She was a great bartender but it would have been nice to see a smile. We were impressed with staff except for 1 very rude lady in the gift shop that did not care about any customers we saw.
Entertainment & Activities The shows were a lot of fun. The comedian ( Phat Cat ) was really funny !! There are several shows and they are very high quality. Lots of people played bingo and had fun. The casino was nice except there was too much smoke at times. There were options for everyone on the ship to have a great time if you wanted to.

Key West, Florida We all went on a long walk through Key West as soon as we got off the ship....the humidity was a smack in the face but you got used to it after a while. We went to Hemmingway house and that was cool. we walked down many steets and saw lots of cool things. We then went on the pub crawl and had a blast. Our guide was an ex New York cop that was now a bar owner down there and he was a blast. We then did some shopping after the 5 bars on the crawl and then back on the ship.
Don't Miss: If you like to have a couple of drinks and like a good time.....do the Pub Crawl. We loved it and there were 11 of us ranging in age from40 - 55
George Town, Grand Cayman We went to seven mile beach to have a relaxing day after a long night of partying. The night before was the 25th anniversary night for 1 of the couples we were with. It was nice to swim and lounge on the beach. You got a lounge and we got a couple of big umbrellas and took it easy for a few hours. we had a couple of beer and some food and then did some shopping before we headed back to the tender boat to take us back to the ship.
Don't Miss: Seven Mile Beach is nice if you just want to kick back in the sun
Ocho Rios, Jamaica This was an awesome day !! We headed out early and were taking out to sea to do some snorkeling for about 45 minutes or so. It was a lot of fun and then we had a "Red Stripe" beer on our way to Dunn's River Falls. This where you climb up the waterfall. This was soooo much fun. It seemed to take about 45 minutes with stops along the way for the staff to take pictures....we also had an underwater camera ourselves. They also take a video fo your group and you can buy it if you want after for $40.00 or whatever you can get it for. Its then back to the catamaran and off to sea. we thought that we were headed back to the port but instead they took us cruising for about 45 minutes. They broke out the rum punch and the music and dancing started. it was a blast. they are super friendly and they keep the rum punch going as long as you want and packs a kick. we bought a CD of the music they were playing for $7.00. They dropped us off and we went into the village by the port .
Don't Miss: Dunn's River Falls is a must. There are different ways to do it with some having snorkeling or other things with it. Do the falls !!

Wonderful! by
A Traveler from Vancouver, BC
Sailing date: Oct 2007 Pros:
The food was great....much better than I expected! Our dining room waiters were amazing! All the crew/staff we met was helpful
Cons:
I would have liked to spend more time in each port! A non-smoking ship would be preferable for us.
We really enjoyed our cruise on the Carnival Liberty. The ship is beautiful and very clean. There is a huge variety of things to do and places to either participate in the activities or sit quietly on your own. Our stateroom was roomier than we expected and the bed was very comfortable. The cabin was cleaned and tidied every time we left it and our steward left us cute towel animals every night. The Carnival Capers we received each evening was really helpful. We didn't intend to eat in the dining room every night but there was a great selection of choices on the menu and almost everything our group of 11 tried was excellent so we ate in the Silver Olympian every night except one. We tended to listen to the recommendations of our head waiter...he didn't steer us wrong! The service in the dining room was outstanding. The only minor complaint we would have is that it took to long if you wanted a cocktail. Wine came quickly as the waiters handle that...cocktails are handled by bar staff and we thought the bar waiter had far to many tables to handle them quickly....a small complaint really. The only evening we didn't eat in the dining room we went to Harry's Supper Club. It was the most amazing meal we have had in a long time. The city we live in is famous for it's multi star restaurants so we have eaten in some very good restaurants. We would highly recommend Harry's! Our shore excursions were lots of fun - a pub crawl in Key West, Sea Grape Beach in Grand Cayman and a sail, snorkel and Dunn's River Falls in Ochos Rios. Embarkation was quick and painless; we were on the ship having lunch before noon. We took our own luggage off the ship the last morning as we had an early flight and other than the annoyance of dragging our own suitcases it went smoothly. We were at the airport before 8:00 AM. All in all we had a terrific trip and are glad we went!
Ship Quality The ship is huge and a bit difficult to figure out at first but it is beautiful and incredibly clean!
Dining/Food Our wait staff in the dining room was great. The food was much better than we anticipated. We went to Harry's Supper Club and had the most amazing meal. It was worth every penny! The buffet food was good too - sushi bar was a nice touch!
Stateroom Quality The bedding was nice and the bed was comfortable. There were a couple of minor maintenance issues in our stateroom that were handled quickly. The room was cleaned and tidied regularly.
Ship Staff Quality All the staff we met were very helpful. We particularly enjoyed our wait staff in the dining room.
Entertainment & Activities We went to two comedy shows and the two big stage shows and thoroughly enjoyed all of them.

Key West, Florida We spent the AM shopping and visted the Little White House and Hemmingway Home. In the afternoon we went on The Key West Pub Crawl shore excursion. The pub crawl was so much fun!
Don't Miss: Key West Pub Crawl!
George Town, Grand Cayman We just went to Sea Grape Beach on a "Beach Break with Transportation". We expected that the drink we were to get would be a cocktail and but it was pop or water (going back and looking it didn't specify...just our expectation). We also expected that the lounge chairs might have some kind of shade available....there was but only if you rented an umbrella from some enterprising beach vendors. The sand and water were gorgeous and we had a terrific lunch at a restaurant right on the beach.
Don't Miss: Try the Rum Cakes!
Ocho Rios, Jamaica We went on Sanara Sail, Snorkel and Dunn's River Falls and had a blast! The sail boat was gorgeous, the snorkelling was fun (great guide) and Dunn's River Falls was fun (despite how many people there are there - they do a good job of making it fun) and the party on the sail back to the ship was lots of fun (everybody was up dancing and it wasn't just the rum punch as the kids were dancing too!). Once we got back to the dock we went shopping right near the port and had a great lunch in a small place called Coco's (I think that is the name...). A great day.
Don't Miss: Sanara Sail, Snorkel and Dunn's River Falls excursion was great!

carnival liberty. Wonderful! by
Laura from Portland, OR
Sailing date: Oct 2007 Pros:
Service people. Food. Entertainment.
Cons:
Didn't get Shore Exc. ticket--had to get reprints. Difficulty getting from 1st purser, 2nd one was able to help--( Shore Exc was 7:30 am using boat tender.)
In the Silver dining room (Roman & Romalito) service was excellent, as was the food. Housekeeping (Wirat) excellent as well. Shore excursions initially was worried regarding no tickets that we would miss tour--I understand that better now.
This was our first cruise. I'm a nurse and my husband a BC with our fire department--we both loved the trip and have been raving about it to our friends. WE WANT TO CRUISE AGAIN--GOT ANY GOOD DEALS?
Ship Quality
Dining/Food Romeo and Romalito were our waiters. They were attentive, funny, great table dancers. We received everything we wanted--the way we wanted it. LOVED IT.
Stateroom Quality Wirat, our housekeeper. Everything we wanted was done before we even asked for it. Everything remained safe and clean. Wirat made up towel animals and had them on our bed with chocolated every night. LOVED THE ATTENTION TO DETAILS.
Ship Staff Quality
Entertainment & Activities All nights entertainment great, but not Thursday's commedian.

Key West, Florida We did both the Myths & Tastes--great guides.
George Town, Grand Cayman Turtles. Our driver (father) was not good with communication, but his son was better. The driver didn't say how long we had to look, when he would be back when he left us--it made all of our group nervous.
Ocho Rios, Jamaica Stingrays. Our guys were great on the little boat. All who want to touch got to and they help position us for pictures. We got a great one with the stingray on our back--they held the stinger away from us. Good Job.

Simply Incredible by
Denise M from Puyallup, Wa.
Sailing date: May 2007 Pros:
The Big Screen on deck
Cons:
Being assigned a table for 4, we were the only two at the table and would have like to have been at a larger table.
The ship was beautiful, well laid out with nice bright colors and friendly staff
Ship Quality
Dining/Food The dining options were endless, I went onboard trying to stick to a reasonable eating plan and somewhere about day 3 that went right out the window.
Stateroom Quality We had a balcony room that was super spacious, I felt spoiled the whole trip.
Ship Staff Quality Very friendly staff
Entertainment & Activities lots of variety in the shows. Really enjoyed them.

Costa Maya, Mexico Costa Maya was great. It is put together so well . The excursion we signed up for was the Uvero Beach Blast . The area where you meet up is well signed and the tour left right on time. The little boats were a lot of fun and the snorkel was enjoyable. The beach amenities there were clean and well thought out. The main compound at Costa Maya was great also, two pools the beach, food, shopping all in one place. I would do this again.
Don't Miss: Uvero Beach Blast
Freeport, Grand Bahama Island I had been to Freeport twice before and that wasone time too many. There is not a lot to see or do if you do not sign up for an excursion .
Don't Miss: Be sure to try the fresh Conch salad. Rum Runners has a great price for drinks in the Lucaya Market.
George Town, Grand Cayman We did not take an excursion here as we had been before. We spent our day leisurely touring the city and doing some shopping. I had taken the stingray city tour before, Hell is a big disappointment as was the turtle farm.
Don't Miss: Had a great time over at Margaritaville which is right across from the pier.
