Floating Resort by Kelly L from Anchorage, AK
Sailing date: May 2010

Pros:
The comforts, activities, food, drinks, service.

Cons:
The cost for drinks, and not enough time spent at the ports of call.

The ship is an absolute marvel. It was like a floating resort and every convenience was at our fingertips. I really liked the live music (Lou on guitar - fantastic guitarist), and the service was second to none. Although I gained a few pounds on the cruise ship, I would have gained weight on any vacation and I used the gym nearly every day on the ship. I feel that more time was needed at Cabo San Lucas as the stopover far too short - just a few hours when you consider disembarking and the time needed to embark. That was the only frustrating part of the trip...not enough time at some of the ports. I would however, recommend a Carnival cruise to friends and family and have already done so.

Cons:
The Ship

This was my 4th cruise, 3rd on Carnival. The ship was newier, however the decore was interesting. Our state room was on deck 8 w/deck nice room. Disclaimer: Do not go on this ship if your single and successfull, you will be bored and frustrated by the lack of things to do, I was and it made the ship almost unbearable, thank god for the ports of call! The only exception would be if you are with a large group or with a husband/wife or boyfriend/girlfriend.

"The perfect cruise" by Julie K. from Ellensburg, WA
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
Service, food and entertainment were fabulous

Cons:
Piano bar

The Splendor was always immaculately clean. The Cruise Director always reminded everyone that they were "on vacation" from the moment we stepped on board until the moment we stepped off....just as a reminder to relax, enjoy and forget the "real world". The wait staff was so incredible and the entertainment was top-notch! The shows were way above and beyond the ones we saw a few years ago on the Victory. The food was spectacular - there's something for everyone!

Entertainment & Activities
Top notch entertainment - from the Splendor dancers to the comedy acts. The only thing I wish that were different is that bingo is $20.00 per card each time you play, which is a little spendy...especially if you have children who would like to take part in the activity as well. I would suggest cutting the cost to play.

So... So... by Michael J from Seattle, WA
Sailing date: Mar 2010

Pros:
Dinning, Pueto Vallarta

Cons:
Entertainment, Music

Our dinning experience was great! I recommend eating in the dinning room as much as possible cause the buffet lines were too long and food in the dinning room is always good. The ship entertainment was terrible! The live music was worse than a high school garage band and the shows were boring. Overall the entertainment factor didn't ruin the trip but needs a lot of work.

Good Cruise by Tanya L. from North Pole, Alaska
Sailing date: Feb 2010

Pros:
The food

Cons:
Not enough time at each port

The ship was very clean and the staff was awesome but would like to have more time in the 3 ports we stopped. When reaching Cabo it took so long to get everyone off boat to land so by the time we reached the city/beach we had only a few hours to enjoy the sights.

Happy to get home by A Traveler from new york
Sailing date: Feb 2010

Pros:
tour in puerto vallarta/crew of the splendor

Cons:
crowed condition/kids activities/scheduling

ship was very clean/crew was excellent. the ship was very crowded with little to do. We always felt pressured to get situated. The ship is not laid out very well. I was still lost by the 6th day. Pools were very small and very heavily chlorinated. There were longs lines for everything. I felt like we were traveling every day. Stressful.

Newer Ship... it was nice. by Matt M. from San Fransisco CA
Sailing date: Jan 2010

Pros:
The Spa was very nice...

Cons:
Layout was confusing

In time this ship may get better... one of the crew summed it up perfectly when we were talking about the disjointedness of the staff and service... he said "the ship had not found its Soul"... yet!!!

Carnival Splendor cruise by A Traveler from Long Beach CA
Sailing date: Jan 2010

Pros:
the crew was wonderful, fun, and excellent cabin service

Cons:
the interior wall decor of the ship was beyond Las Vegas on steroids overdone ugly!

Despite the really overdone Circus Circus Vegas flashing lights ugly decor, there was actually some nice artwork around the ship totally overwhelmed by the ugly pink circles EVERYWHERE. You could get rid of 3/4th of the interior wall decor and have a pretty ship. Service was very good, food was kind of bland.

Lido deck music and the shows were WAY TOO LOUD all the time. If I wasn't hard of hearing before this cruise I am now. At times it was flat out painfully loud, especially at 12:30 a.m. in the morning.

We loved the towel animals! by Brede E from Eagle River, AK
Sailing date: Dec 2009

Pros:
immaculate rooms - great entertainment

Cons:
High prices for drinks

This was our first cruise (7 Day Mexican Riviera) and it was everything we expected and a whole lot more! The stateroom was fantastic! I'm very glad we upgraded to the BALCONY SUITE STATEROOM! The balcony gave us private moments to take in the fresh air and sun. The balcony enabled me to also capture some great pictures of the ports as we sailed. The Carnival Ship were were cruising on was called the Splendor and still like new. The crew does and exceptional job making sure the ship is clean and spotless. Our room was cleaned to perfection and the towel animals were so cute! We looked forward to seeing what new animal was waiting for us in our room. The food was fresh and there was always a great variety of food. I was surprised to see the variety of low calorie offerings. The shows were very entertaining and the crew of the ship were always in great spirits and full of energy. The cruise directory "Goose" was always interactive and kept everyone engaged with the current activities. We will definitely cruise again and already put a deposit down on our future cruise. I would definitely recommend this type of vacation to anyone!
